Global diversity and ecological drivers of lichenised soil fungi

چکیده
Lichens play crucial roles in sustaining the functioning of terrestrial ecosystems; however, diversity and ecological factors associated with lichenised soil fungi remain poorly understood. To address this knowledge gap, we used a global field survey including information on fungal sequences topsoils from 235 ecosystems. We identified 880 phylotypes across nine biomes ranging deserts to tropical forests. The proportion peaked shrublands dry grasslands. Aridity index, plant cover pH were most important distribution fungi. Furthermore, Endocarpon, Verrucaria Rinodina as some dominant genera globe, they had similar environmental preferences community. In addition, precipitation seasonality mean diurnal temperature range also predicting these genera. Using information, able create first maps richness This work provides new insight into fungi, supports their dominance drylands globe.

Ecological Drivers of Ecosystem Diversity in Sahelian Rangeland of Niger
Description of vegetation patterns associated with environmental factors such as grazing, climate, landforms, substrate variables etc. are helpful for land management planning. This study used new synecological tools to investigate plants composition and to provide ecological descriptions of plants communities of communal pastures in Sahelian Ecological Zone of Niger. Vegetation and several env...
متن کاملEcological drivers of soil microbial diversity and soil biological networks in the Southern Hemisphere.
The ecological drivers of soil biodiversity in the Southern Hemisphere remain underexplored. Here, in a continental survey comprising 647 sites, across 58 degrees of latitude between tropical Australia and Antarctica, we evaluated the major ecological patterns in soil biodiversity and relative abundance of ecological clusters within a co-occurrence network of soil bacteria, archaea and eukaryot...
متن کاملPhylogenetic congruence of lichenised fungi and algae is affected by spatial scale and taxonomic diversity
The role of species' interactions in structuring biological communities remains unclear. Mutualistic symbioses, involving close positive interactions between two distinct organismal lineages, provide an excellent means to explore the roles of both evolutionary and ecological processes in determining how positive interactions affect community structure. In this study, we investigate patterns of ...
متن کاملFUNGAL BIOGEOGRAPHY. Response to Comment on "Global diversity and geography of soil fungi".
Schadt and Rosling (Technical Comment, 26 June 2015, p. 1438) argue that primer-template mismatches neglected the fungal class Archaeorhizomycetes in a global soil survey. Amplicon-based metabarcoding of nine barcode-primer pair combinations and polymerase chain reaction (PCR)-free shotgun metagenomics revealed that barcode and primer choice and PCR bias drive the diversity and composition of m...
متن کاملEcological Drivers of Biogeographic Patterns of Soil Archaeal Community
Knowledge about the biogeography of organisms has long been a focus in ecological research, including the mechanisms that generate and maintain diversity. In this study, we targeted a microbial group relatively underrepresented in the microbial biogeographic literature, the soil Archaea. We surveyed the archaeal abundance and community composition using real-time quantitative PCR and T-RFLP app...
